Umarex Walther P99 compact airsoft trainer We here at GACA have continuously recommended that those interested in getting into the world of gun ownership start their intro in a risk-free manner by training with faux 'guns' that are near-identical to the actual firearms they will (eventually) carry. In my view that means carrying them when doing tasks around the house and then getting used to the heft and feel on your body while doing so in a concealed manner. The extra bonus is they should fit in and be interchangeable with any holsters or other gear or accessories used. Umarex makes some really high-quality examples that still won't break the bank like this Walther at around $100.

I saw the Walther yesterday at Bass Pro for $49.99. Considered buying it. I used one last week for a Proficiency Handgun class I took. I loved it & it would be a cheaper way to practice & save my ammo. Question...which CO2 Airsoft gun would you recommend??? I don't want plastic I want metal. I don't know what kind they used in the class. Am trying to find out.

That's a very good deal on the Walther. Any particular reason you didn't buy that one?
