I learned a powerful lesson about hearing protection, and now I have to live with the consequences everyday. When I was in Army bootcamp, I was too afraid to tell the rangemaster that I had forgotten my earplugs back in the barracks. (I didn't want to have to do pushups in front of everyone for my oversight) So I had to endure a whole series of automatic M60 machinegun fire practice (and also participate) I love firing weapons, but that time was brutal. I managed to bury my right ear into my shoulder while firing, but my left ear caught the brunt of it. To this day I have difficulty hearing quiet conversation or random questions. I usually have to ask people to repeat themselves, all because I made a stupid decision. My advice is ~ Wear Your Ear Plugs, no matter what.
