ROCK ISLAND Armory .22 TCM
Was not aware until recently that this model came with both a (standard) 9mm barrel, as well as the TCM version, which uses a necked down 9mm cartridge running at 2200fps+, depending on weight. That handily avoids the old pitfall of getting a gun chambering an 'oddball' round, only to find a few years later no ammo can be had. It has been compared to both .22 Magnum and the 5.7x28 FN round.

Added Bonus Features
"The Rock Island Armory 1911 A2 MM (Mini Magnum) is a “dual use” firearm right out of the box. With a simple swap of a barrel, the powerful .22TCM is converted to a 9x19mm pistol with a magazine capacity of 16+1 using the same magazine. With a gentle recoil and easy to obtain NATO round, the 1911 A2 can be a useful tool suited for many situations."
"To convert the .22 TCM to 9mm, the process simply involves swapping out the barrels and recoil springs. Visually there was a slight difference between the two recoil springs; the 7-pound TCM spring was slightly shorter and of a thinner gauge. The recoil spring provided for the TCM is 7 pounds, and if you get confused as to which spring is which, trying both in the gun reveals a definite difference in resistance."

Two things I didn't like about this 1911. One, it's full-sized, and two, the cost. I'm not enamored with the large size and heavy weight of this gun, but I know the Browning fans would like it, anyway. At a suggested retail of around $800, it's not terribly expensive, when one considers the two-barrel standard setup. On the positive side, it IS a high-cap 1911; something fairly rare, even today.
